“ Never judge a book by the cover. Pedro’s is literally in a quanset hut on the Main Street in North Rustico PEI. It doesn’t look like someplace you’d expect Michelin quality food. Asked by the hostess if it was our first time, she assured us we would be back. She was right. Appetizer we had the spicy shrimp and calimari which was so good we had it again on our return visit a week later. Highest quality, couldn’t improve on the flavour, which burst through every morsel. First time in I had the Seafood Linguine which was head and shoulders the best I’ve ever had. A favourite dish of mine, nobody else comes close. We had to come back and another great meal. My wife had the braised beef which melted in the mouth, absolutely delicious. I had the seafood platter. Most places you could expect a deep fried mess but at Pedro,s, fresh and beautifully prepared. An absolute pleasure to dine here. The chef cooks with passion and brilliance you just don’t expect in a tiny town in a very odd location. You must make reservations, they turn away hungry people every day, so don’t be disappointed. Highest possible recommendation ”
“ This restaurant is a must-visit with amazing food that’s truly worth every bite! The place can get pretty busy, so it’s better to reserve a table if you can. Although the space is a bit tight, the cozy atmosphere adds to the charm, and it’s definitely worth coming here. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal! ”
“ What does one say about a restaurant that perfectly serves a small community through the colder months and then ramps up to host the tourists (and locals) in the summer.? Man this place is a jem great meals and brilliant service, Pedro has never failed when we've visited. This evening we visited with a party of five. Zero faults again. Highly recommend this fantastic establishment. P.S. ask for the curry, either chicken or vegetable options are brilliant....and for just a little extra Pedro will make you a shrimp curry...absolutely stunning! ”
“ Arrived late 1/2 hr before closing was not turned away. Amazing food, ( a lot of it) fabulous staff, ( Kayla and Emily) owner was was super friendly. Definitely a must stop. Priced right Thanks for the great experience ”
“ Fantastic pasta. We ordered the Linguine two salmon Alfredo, featuring both smoked and grilled fresh salmon. This dish was amazing and is one of the best seafood pastas I have ever tried. I am normally not a fan of smoked salmon, but the cooked version of it here was very tasty. Not to mention the grilled fresh salmon which was great. Considering the ingredients used, I felt that the price here was quite reasonable as well. The caesar salad... was awful (but the pasta makes up for it). Strangely, the bacon was not cut and presented as whole strips. The pieces of lettuce were huge (not bite-sized) and bitter, croutons were hard to bite into, and worst of all, there was way too much caesar dressing drizzled all over the plate. Would have been better to get veggies from another meal and just ordered 2 pasta dishes. That said, definitely try the pasta here. ”
“ In the low season we ended up at Pedro’s after a long day exploring the area. They graciously seated us under an hour before close and were so kind to do so knowing we had limited options. We did feel a bit wind blown and out of place in what was clearly a local Friday night date spot and got a few obvious sideways glances we clocked but tried to ignore. I ordered the seafood platter and the chef came out and chatted with us about our time in the area, his food philosophy and the specifics of his delicious beef tallow fries which was awesome. All in all a delicious experience - thanks for taking care of two explorers who lost track of time! ”
“ We flew into Charlottetown from Calgary and by the time we had checked-into our accommodation and explored the area a little bit, it was around 7:30pm and we were hungry, looking for a place to eat that wasn’t closing soon in the North Rustico area... it seemed that all places closed at 8pm, but then we stumbled upon Pedro’s Island Eatery. We walked in at 7:45pm (they close at 8), asking if they could still squeeze us in, and the owner was so sweet and kind and said they could absolutely get us in. This cute little dinner spot is a family-run business with the chef being the owner’s husband. When we asked the owner what’s the best thing to order, she said, “you won’t regret anything you order. My husband can cook!” and she was so right. We ordered the seafood linguine and the shrimp Diavola and both were incredible! The sauces were to-die for and the fresh seafood was cooked just right. The blue mussels were particularly the highlight. They also served us complimentary bruschetta as an appetizer. We’re only here for a short trip, but we’ve already decided we must come back to try the seafood chowder! 11/10, we will be back!!! ”
“ The outside of the restaurant is deceiving for what you find inside! Had a great meal here - salmon two ways linguine and seafood linguine. Both dishes very fresh & tasty. Service was really good - ran out of time this holiday to go back. Highly recommend!! ”
